8 years of The Lunchbox: 5 international praise received by Irrfan Khan & Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer

Irrfan Khan and The Lunchbox star Nimrat Kaur turned out to be one of the most unique and nuanced love stories of the past decade. One fine day, he receives a letter from an anonymous woman in his lunchbox and something forces him to reply. The two see each other as strangers through the letters. Nawazuddin Siddiqui played the role of Irrfan’s younger brother in the film, which sees him as a mentor.

The film was widely acclaimed upon its release and at international festivals. Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar collaborated as presenters for the film. Incredibly fine storytelling marked Ritesh Batra’s debut. He made another adventure with ‘Photograph’ by Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sanya Malhotra. One of the film’s top honors was being nominated for the British Academy Film Awards in the “Best Non-English Language Film” category.
