8storeytree is a vintage film camera store full of retro products

Hidden on the second floor of a shophouse in Geylang is 8 storey treea store filled with tons of vintage trinkets that are hard to find elsewhere, as well as film cameras, film and everything else you might need for analog photography.

It might be a film camera shop, but even if you’re not a photographer, it’s still a really cool place to check out. Here, you’ll find shelves filled with cassette tapes, vinyl records, typewriters, and all sorts of other cool vintage merchandise you rarely see these days.

Otherwise, when it comes to vintage stuff, there’s something lovely about film photography. Scroll through Instagram these days and you’ll almost certainly see photos taken on film cameras posted to the feed. Despite the convenience of digital photography, film photography is still alive (#filmisnotdead) with many people loving the process and the beauty of the film. There’s just something so exciting about taking pictures on a film camera and having to wait for them to develop to see the results.

So if you are interested in film photography – or if you are a film photographer looking for new and interesting things – you will certainly find everything you need here too.

The store has a wide range of 35mm film cameras for you to choose from, including options such as the Kodak Ultra F9 35mm camera (S$49), AgfaPhoto analog camera (S$58), and the Lomo LC-A+ 35mm film camera (S$438).

If you prefer to go with a disposable camerathey also offer a much wider selection than you would normally find at your typical photography store.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a film camera store without film. Here you will also find a wide variety of 35mm movie which extends far beyond your usual selection, including experimental and pre-exposed movies that look really fun (and super cute!) to shoot.

In addition to 35mm cameras, the shop specializes in instant camerasso if you’re looking to get a classic Polaroid, you know where to go.
