Actress Jo Joyner says her friendship with one of them Ackley Bridge co-stars have become so close that she sometimes wishes she could take her to the next level.
Chat with Kate Thornton about the latest episode of the Question time on white wine podcast, Jo joked that she and her co-star Sunetra Sarker would make the perfect power couple.
– I already said this to Sunetra: if only I could want a woman. We would be a powerhouse. If we only had that last bit of that connection as well, then we could take over the world. “
No angels in Ackley
The couple met 15 years ago during an audition for the Channel 4 drama, No angels, and have recently been professionally brought together on our screens at Ackley Bridge.
Sunetra, who was also in the studio for the recording, admitted: “You fall in friendship.”
“You get high,” she explained, “Can’t wait to see each other. You don’t have to go out to a nightclub. Outside influences are not welcome. We just need each other.
Love at the first bite?
Sunetra also told Kate that she remembered thinking she and Jo would get along really well when they first met.
In Jo’s memory, the love story was sparked the moment Sunetra pulled a chocolate from her bag and passed it around the waiting room during painfully long auditions for No angels.
“I think there’s something really interesting to say about actors … We literally work for four weeks on some work, 10 weeks for some, one day on a job … So you don’t know when you meet someone new.
“I think when you find the kind of connection that makes you want to be friends with each other, you feel like it’s more special.”
