7 days was written and directed by Roshan Sethi, who began his writing career as a student at Harvard Medical School and co-created Fox’s The resident while completing his residency. 7 days follows Ravi (Soni) and Rita (Viswanathan) who are settled by their traditional Indian parents on an agreed date and seemingly have nothing in common. He’s conservative and nervous as she tries her best to continue to smile politely. When a safe-in-place warrant is issued as the COVID epidemic escalates, Ravi is forced to stay overnight at Rita’s. Soon he sees that she is not the straight girl she claimed to be. As their time together spans a full week, the couple develop an unlikely bond, and in the face of a heart-wrenching turn of events, that bond becomes something stronger.

“Thanks to the skillful direction of Roshan Sethi, 7 days reminds us that the best relationships surprise us, make us better people and push us out of our comfort zones, ”said Yolanda Macias, Director of Content at Cinedigm. “Karan Soni and Geraldine Viswanathan bring awesome comedic timing and genuine emotion to their roles on these two charming, flawed, and utterly relatable romantic tracks. We are excited to share this festival favorite with audiences around the world. “

“We made this film as an ode of love to the traditional arranged marriages that have uplifted a lot of us,” Sethi said. “The story is meant to both epitomize and subvert expectations of romantic comedies. We think it’s a love story you’ve never seen before, rooted in the hilarity and warmth of the Indo-American culture. “

“Having worked with Karan when he was an actor on Security not assured and later on his directorial debut in Room 104, I was thrilled when he and Roshan brought this project to us, “said executive producer Duplass.”7 days represents millions of stories, not only of where you were when this hellish year happened, but who you were with when it all changed. I think audiences will see themselves in these characters because they represent a real part of all of us, and I hope they will feel good about this hilarious, unique and heartfelt story. “

After the film’s world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, 7 days has been screened at festivals around the world including the Bentonville Film Festival (Best Narrative Feature), San Diego Asian Film Festival (Best Narrative Feature), Naples International Film Festival (Best First Feature), BFI London and the Nashville Film Festival.
