FACETS Announces the Launch of the Chicago Alliance of Film Festivals | Parties and Awards

“As Chicago arts organizations began to emerge from the COVID-19 lockdown and our room increasingly engaged with the film community and began discussing collaborations, the idea of establishing and overseeing a group of film festival partners was introduced to me by Full Spectrum Features’ Eugene Park and One Earth Collective’s Ana Garcia Doyle,” said Cardarelli. “It is a true honor and auspicious opportunity for FACETS to oversee this initiative to foster unity among film organizations in Chicago so that we can grow as a collective organization that benefits all.”

The City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) is a major supporter of the Chicago Alliance of Film Festivals. “With Chicago being a world-class cultural city both as a hub of artistic production and tourism, this initiative highlights the importance and interdependence of its film and television community which also includes movie theaters and festivals, as well as academic institutions that teach the craft and its history,” said DCASE Commissioner Erin Harkey. “All of these sectors combined will have that much more of an impact in driving economic growth and improving the education and entertainment this city has to offer residents and visitors alike.”
