How to watch movies online in Les Biffes?

For the first time, the Bengaluru International Film Festival (Biffes) will screen films online. In a bid to meet the challenges of the pandemic, organizers are expected to host the festival in a hybrid model from March 3-10.

So how does this system work? Online movie screening is a new phenomenon. Only some of the reputable international film festivals such as Sundance Film Festival, IFFR (Rotterdam), Toronto International Film Festivals and others have moved to online mode in the past.

In the age of the pandemic, the online option is useful for people who are worried about going to the venue. Biffes has made it so that people from anywhere in India can watch the movies online. Biffes organizers plan to screen at least 60-70 films starting March 4 (Friday). People registered for online streaming can access 10 films a day by connecting to Screenings start at 9 a.m. and films will be available for 24 hours. Within the time slot, any movie can be viewed multiple times.

The following day, a new set of 10 films will go live for viewers. The Biffes team will monitor traffic for each movie and if a movie has huge demand, it might stay on the website for 36 or 48 hours.

Registered viewers can access the films through a username and password, which will be sent to them by the officials. Similar to how multiple OTT platforms work, one registered account will work on four devices. People can watch movies on their laptops and cell phones.

The organizers are optimistic about providing viewers with the best collection in the categories of global, Indian and Asian cinema. Some of the most prominent films include “Tailor” by Sonia Liza Kenterman, “Feathers” by Omar El Zohairy, “There is No Evlil” by Mohammed Rasoulof and “This Is Not A Burial, It’s A Resurrection” by Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese .
