‘Twinemies’ – the cheesiest, gayest, samest podcast of 2022, is a romantic musical comedy for queer teens. Produced by SYN MediaPodcast Incubator Program of and funded by the Community Broadcasting Foundation, it features fiercely intelligent and somewhat unhinged twins, Darcy and Chloe, who were thrust into the eyes of the world at an early age by their politician mother. Constantly compared and scrutinized in frequent diary dissections, the twins have a long competitive streak and walls so thick they’ve pushed each other out of their lives. Now in their final semester of high school and ready to end their competition of a lifetime, the two crafted a high school activity wager based on the all-time highs of cinema that are films from the late ’90s and the early 2000s as 10 things i hate about you. Filled with overused tropes and terrible jokes, ‘Twinemies’ is a story about the pressure to be perfect and have it all.

One day, ‘Twinemies’ will change lives on the music scene, but for now a short, spicy story arc has been produced as a podcast to test the waters for audiences and prove that we want a little more weird, nerdy goodness in our lives. In 4 episodes of 15 minutes and 6 heartbreaking songs, the podcast focuses on the romcom aspect of the musical and follows Chloé, as she discovers the identity of Vent boy, the boy she spoke to through the vent from her dorm, and Darcy as she goes from enemies to lovers with the arrogant, but secretly sweet Margo. Not to mention it’s filled with twin shenanigans.
This short and sweet podcast arc of the greatest Twinemies story takes place at a raging house party, because this nerdy teenage romantic comedy loves its shots. Over 4 episodes, we meet our main characters Darcy and Chloe and learn about their intense competition. Meanwhile, Darcy struggles to decide whether the intense emotions she feels towards Margo are the years of jealousy from their bubbling childhood friendship, or the much scarier option – love. Chloe, on the other hand, gets into detective as she uses her popularity and knowledge of the network to uncover the identity of the mysterious boy she spoke to through the vent in her dorm.
