The 8-minute anime film titled “U Linh Tick Ky: Magic powder” directed by Leo Dinh will compete in the Family Picture Show category while the themed image “Nhung Dua Tre Trong Suong” (Children of the Mist) by director Ha Le Diem will join the Asian Crossroads category at SIFF.

SIFF will also see Vietnamese children’s sci-fi adventure “Maika” directed by Ham Tran in the Films4Families and Asian Crossroads categories. The film will be presented to the public from April 16 to 23.

“Children of the Mist” will also participate in the Documentary category. The film tells the story of a twelve-year-old Hmong girl in rural Vietnamese villages who normally has to deal with the pressure of an impending marriage via the custom of bride kidnapping, but this documentary follows a young heroine in conflict with tradition.
