Best known for his role as Prince Charles on Netflix The crownJosh O’Connor has attracted many romantic rumors over the years. But what is his current relationship status? Here is what we know.
In 2019, O’Connor would have dated Margot Hauer-King, account manager for a marketing start-up. Hauer-King is the daughter of London restaurateur Jeremy King and sister of actor Jonah Hauer-King, known for London Postcards and will play Prince Eric in the 2023 live-action remake of The little Mermaid. According to the tabloids, the couple moved together to east London, but little is known about their relationship otherwise.
Despite their low-key approach to dating, the couple shared a few snaps on social media at the time. News organizations such as The sun suggest they were together as recently as November 2020, but as of now – almost a year later – the silence on their social media as well as the removal of the couple’s previous photos from social media suggests that they are no longer an element. Neither Hauer-King nor O’Connor have spoken publicly about the relationship or the possible breakup.
O’Connor has also been linked with a colleague The crown star Emma Corrin, who played precocious Lady Diana Spencer facing her shy Prince Charles. The rumors were based on the fact that the two had undeniable chemistry. However, a secret relationship has never been confirmed or denied. (Corrin has also been romantically linked with a series of stars, including Harry Styles.)
O’Connor was born in Southampton and lived in Shoreditch in London until very recently. The actor moved to New York in the summer of 2021. Although he has not confirmed whether the move is permanent, he told the Standard Evening that he would take more “independent films” and that he is “excited to do theater and make independent films”, rather than big blockbusters like James bond, or Marvel.
O’Connor appeared in the 2015 Disney remake Cinderella, God’s country, Emma, Doctor Who, Peaky Blinders, The Durrells, and will soon appear alongside Olivia Colman – who played The Queen in The crown – in the eagerly awaited rom-com Mothers Day.
For now, at least, it seems the actor is looking forward to a “quieter” life in New York City and is even starting a ceramics class. “Maybe in a few years I’ll be a brilliant potter!” he told ES. Maybe, Josh. May be.
